Privacy Policy

The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. The only information we receive is what you type into a contact form and send to us. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

1. Who we are

This policy describes how Ready Legal, the operating name of Travis McConnell, PLLC, handles information collected through readylegal.net. Our office is at 924 N. Magnolia Avenue, Suite 202, #1178, Orlando, FL 32803.

This policy covers the website. Information you give us after we are engaged as your lawyers is governed by the attorney-client privilege, our duty of confidentiality under the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, and your engagement agreement, all of which are stricter than this policy.

2. What this site does not do

We think it is worth stating plainly what is absent, because most privacy policies describe practices this site does not have.

The site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics of any kind, so we do not know how many people visit, which pages they read, or where they came from. There are no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags, and no social media trackers. Nothing is stored in your browser. We do not build profiles, and we have no way to recognize you when you return.

3. Information you send us

The site has several forms. Each one sends what you type directly to us by email. What each form asks for depends on its purpose.

The consultation form on the main pages asks for your name, email address, phone number, and a short description of your situation.

The construction lien form asks for information about a project, including your name and company, the project address and county, the property owner, dates of first and last work, amounts claimed, and any notice dates.

The conflict check forms ask for more, because their purpose is to let us determine whether we are able to speak with you at all. Depending on the form, this can include your name and business name, mailing address, contact details, a description of the matter, the names of adverse parties, property addresses, lease terms, rent amounts, notice dates, occupant names, and military status.

You choose what to send. If a field is not necessary, leave it out. As our Terms of Use explains, do not send confidential information before an engagement agreement is signed.

4. Information about other people

Some of our forms ask you to identify other people, such as an adverse party, a tenant, a property owner, or a property manager. Those people are not visiting our site and have not agreed to anything.

We collect that information only because it is necessary to run a conflict check or to understand the matter you are asking about, we use it only for that purpose, and we hold it under the same duty of confidentiality that applies to everything else a prospective client tells us. Please provide only what is needed.

5. Information collected automatically

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub's servers record technical information when a page is requested, which typically includes the requesting IP address, the time, the page requested, and the browser's user agent string. Those logs are held by GitHub under its own privacy practices. We do not receive them, we cannot search them, and we do not use them.

6. Outside services this site uses

Four outside services are involved in an ordinary visit or message.

GitHub Pages hosts the site and serves every page.

Google Fonts serves the typeface. Loading a page requests the font files from Google's servers, which discloses your IP address to Google in the same way that loading any external file does.

Formspree processes our contact forms. When you submit a form, your message passes through Formspree's servers on its way to our email. Formspree acts as a processor for that delivery.

YouTube hosts the videos embedded in a few articles. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced embed, which is designed not to set tracking cookies unless you play the video. Pressing play involves you with YouTube, and Google's privacy policy governs from that point.

Our email is hosted with Microsoft 365, so messages you send us are stored there once they arrive.

7. How we use what you send

We use it to respond to you, to run a conflict check, to evaluate whether we can help with your matter, and, if we are engaged, to provide legal services. We also keep records of conflict checks because we are required to know who we have spoken with.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us, and we do not profile you.

8. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Information reaches the service providers described above in the course of delivering your message and storing our email. Beyond that, we disclose information only with your permission, or where we are required to by law, a court order, or the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.

9. How long we keep it

Messages that do not lead to an engagement are kept in our email system, and conflict check records are kept indefinitely, because we need a durable record of who has approached the firm in order to identify future conflicts. Client files are retained according to our engagement agreement and the record retention obligations that apply to Florida lawyers.

10. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and form submissions are transmitted encrypted. Our email is protected by the security controls available in Microsoft 365.

No method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure, and ordinary email is not a secure channel. If something is sensitive, ask us about a better way to send it before you send it.

11. Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to the address at the end of this policy. We will do what we reasonably can. We may need to keep conflict check records and any file governed by our professional obligations, and we will tell you if that is the case.

Because the site sets no cookies and runs no tracking, there is nothing to opt out of and no setting to change. Do Not Track signals are not relevant here for the same reason.

12. Children

This site is meant for adults seeking legal services for themselves or their businesses. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, write to us and we will delete it.

13. Where this site is directed

Ready Legal practices in Florida and this site is directed to people and businesses in Florida. We do not target visitors in other countries, and the site is not designed to comply with the data protection laws of other jurisdictions. If you are outside the United States, understand that any information you send will be processed in the United States.

14. Changes

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will make that clear on this page rather than changing it quietly.
